  1. Dear Starr,
This is a chapter I am learning to go deeper with in my own life. Question: Shana says she prays to Jesus. I know that The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one and that Jesus taught us to pray, Our Father, so I am not sure I pray to Jesus as much as I seek the Father. Make a difference? Praying incorrectly? Never thought much about it till reading this chapter.

    1. In knowing they are all one, I think God hears our prayers and we don’t have to necessarily get caught up in if it should be God or Jesus. For me, the bigger lesson here is realizing what Jesus came for and all that is available when we do pray because of what he has done. Does that make sense? John 14:6 says Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” So in that aspect, we know that the only way to God is through Jesus. Also, someone brought up the scripture today at my office on when Jesus asked – “but what about you? Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Messiah.” I’m not sure if my answer helps or makes it more confusing. I believe that Jesus is my Savior and He’s the way I have access to the Father. Before Jesus, that relationship was limited. I pray to Jesus because of the relationship I have. But God hears all because of what Jesus did. Goodness. Now I’m rambling. Lol.

      1. not rambling. I guess I had never thought of who I was praying to. I know all the above but guess I was thinking along the lines of God my Father and that is who I have been coming to. Knowing that the access wasn’t there for me before I was saved by Jesus. Ugh. I am not going to get caught up in words I guess because it is just going to make me feel awkward. Maybe I will rethink just not today.HA.

  2. I find myself praying directly to God, Jesus gave us that access, but I also pray directly to Jesus. I’m glad that I don’t worry about which I am orating to, knowing that I often acknowledge the Father through His Son and I thank both God and Jesus Christ for the sacrifice of both. The Father gave us his son as the supreme sacrifice to die for our sins. Jesus died on the cross to fulfill His Father’s will. Both the Father and Son deserve our worship and since they are One, I can’t be wrong!
