Day 30: Abide in Me

Today’s Reading:
Day 30 / Abide in Me (pages 165-170)

My ah-ha from today’s reading:

“We’re so busy trying to do something for God that we don’t realize that the key to our success in any endeavor is letting God do something for us. We cannot do something for God if we aren’t with God. We have to press into His presence. And the surest way to get into God’s presence is by getting into God’s Word.”

I felt like this quote was just for me. I’m so busy trying to do something for God – and I’m afraid I’ve been the one that doesn’t realize my success is in letting God do something for me.

In all honesty, my passion for writing hasn’t been led by as much time in the Word. I’ve been more of the casual reader.

My eyes were opened by this devotional today and I want my time in the Word to match or exceed the other priorities in my life.

I want God to trust me and use me:

“It’s those who spend the most time in God’s presence that God can use the most because they are the people He can trust the most.”

Such good stuff.
