Today’s Reading:
Day 17 / Do Not Delay (pages 99-102)
My ah-ha from today’s reading:
“Very rarely does our first prayer request hit the bull’s eye of God’s good, pleasing and perfect will. Most prayer requests have to be refined.”
God is working on me and my prayers.
I’m finding more and more the need to pray for MY heart to change instead of those around me.
Instead of changing my daughter’s meltdowns, change my reactions and words.
Instead of changing the relationship with my coworkers, change my approach and tone.
Instead of being so focused on a book to write, create a journey in our family for me to document and encourage others along the way.
Instead of taking away our struggles and difficult days, help us learn to look for the lessons and grace.
I’ve missed the mark more than once on my prayer requests. I want to learn the art of refinement. I want to learn what it means to listen to God and seek His will above my own desires and wishes.
This isn’t something that comes easy. It takes commitment and bold prayers that don’t give up.
Today, I’m praying for each one of you in this challenge. For God to show up, surprise you and refine your prayers along the way!

Financial healing isn’t instantaneous and takes making good choices. I prayed for Brian to get a new job for over a year. Girl, I have missed that mark so many times too! I want to hear what God says MORE. Say, pray, believe!

I am praying for you, Melissa, in particular for financial blessings. I remember how hard it was for us for so long! The years when you are just getting by seem to last forever! God is good and will take care of us. The lessons we learn from doing without are invaluable.

She is right. If we’re being honest, most of us have walked in this struggle. It’s never easy. Money is the hardest thing. It has the ability to distract us from God, divide us in marriage and so much more. But God also provides and gives us ways to bless others as we are blessed. I always think of the scripture that talks about when much is given, much is required. God expects us to make wise choices when those blessings do come. And that is hard!!! Praying for all of us in this challenge to be Godly stewards.

Starr, those are very wise and encouring words. I pray as the increase comes Brian and I are good stewards.
