Day 14: Speak to the Mountain

Today’s Reading:
Day 14 / Speak to the Mountain (pages 84-88)

My ah-ha from today’s reading:

“And for the record, there will always be pharaohs who get in the way of what God wants to do in your life. All of us have impossible people in our lives. All we can do is circle them in prayer. It’s the only way to keep our attitude in check.”

“The more opposition we experience, the harder we have to pray. And the harder we have to pray, the more miracles God does.”

Tonight as I turned the pages of Draw the Circle (I read and write these segments the night before sending them out) it was as if God was speaking directly to me through this book. I’ve been dealing specifically with several situations related to impossible people, opposition and adversity this week.

All of the opposition and adversity has been related to my writing – which is exactly what I’ve been circling in prayer during this 40 Day Challenge. Ironic? Nope.

I have to admit that usually these types of “attacks” set me off into a terrible mindset and super defensive mode. People just get on my nerves sometimes!! Amen?? Yep. You know you have those people too.

But this week has been different.

Through 3 different situations, I’ve had people call me out on my writing. One person telling me I’ve missed the mark. One person telling me they don’t agree with something I wrote. And one person making a judgmental comment on something without knowing the full story or my intentions.

Yeah, it’s been aggravating. And kinda weird to have 3 of these in 1 week – especially since I’ve never really experienced this before related to writing.

More than anything, these situations have each caused me to pause, think hard and seek to understand. And just like today’s reading said – pray harder.

I know God has used every single one of these situations to teach me a valuable lesson. And He is preparing me for my miracle. He’s preparing me to be an author. Which is exactly what I’ve been praying for.

These impossible people can’t help they’re being aggravating pharaohs. Maybe they’ll be the ones in line to buy my book one day 🙂

How about you? Are you facing opposition related to what you’ve been circling? You’re not alone. Let’s pray harder and see miracles happen right before our eyes!

  1. Don’t let the criticism get you down. Some people seem to thrive on being inconsiderate. It usually means you’re doing something right. The older I get, the more I expect the criticism and then I’m ready for it when it comes. The older I get the less I care about what they think.

  2. Thanks, mom! God is helping me to see the criticism in a different light than ever before! I’m thankful for these lessons in writing and how to worry less about the words of others.
