Day 2: Established by God

Today’s Reading:
Day 2 / Established by God (pages 21-25)

My ah-ha from today’s reading:

“We don’t doubt God’s ability to keep the planets in orbit, but we have a difficult time believing He can keep our lives in orbit.”

WOW. Yep. Pretty much me.

“God wants us to get where God wants us to go more than we want to get where God wants us to go.”

Goodness, YES!

Today’s reading brought so many situations to mind that I’ve been praying for. The fact is this:

I don’t have to worry and stress about the future.
I don’t have to manipulate others to make things go my way.
I don’t have to try and control everything and everyone around me to get what I want.
I don’t have to figure everything out.

I can assure you that I don’t wake up every morning thinking about the planets and where earth is located today, blah blah blah. I go about my day and trust that God has all of that worked out. I simply don’t need to know the science behind it all. Goodness, I don’t even know the weather forecast most days!!

And JUST LIKE THAT – I can go about my day and know that God has every single aspect of my life worked out for the good.

Remember that song, “His Eye is on the Sparrow” – and I know He watches me!

All He wants is for us to spend time with Him and be ready for the divine appointments He sends our way.

How about you? What was your ah-ha today? Do you have trouble letting go and letting God handle things?

PS – I am sooo stinkin’ excited about how many of you have made your own “war room”!!! That is so awesome! I love seeing your pictures and hearing your stories. ❤

  1. It’s funny how you can read a book a second time and realize that there are things you don’t remember reading the first time! I guess I zoned out on the first part of the second chapter when I read this before. We are hurtling through space at mind boggling speeds, orchestrated by God, and we fail to let Him take care of the little stuff! Sometimes I just amaze myself at my own ignorant ways of limiting God! Geez! I can do better than that….If I will just spend time listening to God’s direction and let God lead the way.

    1. I agree! I never think about God taking care of big things like that, but worry about such small things. I don’t want to worry so much and try to do God’s job! He’s better at that than me 🙂

  2. I had purchased this book back in the summer, read it through. This was also about that same time “War Room” was released. I had already started circling situations in my life…3 in particular. One of those prayers has been answered, only Father God could to this great thing. To God we give all the glory for seeing that one of our son’s college loans was paid off completely. I’m still circling the other two Jericho’s in my life. Yes, they are biggies also. My “War Room” consists of a sitting place in the back of my closet, but it works!! For so long I was a wimpy pray-er, but no more. I have learned and am learning to expect great things (not material) from a great GOD! Hey ya’ll, I will pray for you and likewise in return.

    1. Thank you for sharing your story, Annette! I’m so glad you’re reading through the challenge with us again. Praise God for 1 answered prayer with your son! I’m joining you in your other two Jericho’s. Expecting great things with you!!

  3. I have read this book now two times, and feel like this is the very first time! The situations I am praying for are upfront and personal. Some for me and some for other people. I did however decide to go into my journal and read what I was praying for in August 2014, I have seen several answered prayers! Ones that I am sooo thankful for! Salvation for loved ones, healed relationships, new jobs. God is so good! We just have to trust, even for the small things. He can handle it! I am so thankful for the opportunity to do this again with another group 🙂

    1. I agree – I pulled out my journal too and posted the page where I told God what I want on my war room prayer wall! I love seeing where we were a little over a year ago and how God has moved! So glad you are doing this again with us and can’t wait to see what God does this time!!
