Chapter 19: Jeepology
(pg 120)

Quote of the Day:

“I know it sounds goofy, but I want to be like that Jeep. I want to leak from having been hit by Jesus. From having something crazy happen to me, something that flipped my life upside down. I’ve met people like that, people who leak Jesus. Whenever you’re around them, Jesus keeps coming up with words and with actions. I don’t suppose everybody gets hit by Jesus, but those of us who have talk about Him differently. We start steering funny; we start leaking where we stand. And it’s because we got thrown from our lives in a terrific collision.” – Love Does by Bob Goff, pg 125

Scripture Reference:

2 Corinthians 3:16-18
16but whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the  Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

Putting Love into Action:

Is your life leaking Jesus? What would that look like in your life right now? What is one thing you can do this week to let a little more Jesus leak out of your life and onto those around you?

Has there been a situation in your life where something crazy happened to you, something that flipped your life upside down? Did you leak Jesus in that situation?

Has there been a situation where someone else leaked Jesus into your life when it wasn’t necessarily required? They could have been mad, but they chose love instead?

Post your comments below for today’s question/discussion. I can’t wait to hear your answers!

  1. I’m having a hard time coming up with an example for this one – mostly because when I’m thrown for a loop, I tend to get more aggravated than to leak Jesus!! This example was such a great illustration of how to show Jesus in a situation where most people would be so very upset and bitter.

I want that kind of reaction to be my first response, instead of retaliation or complaining! This is something I really struggle with.

  2. Starr, you are so right. I know I tend to try to fix things myself, going through hurt, frustration and confusion. It takes me too long sometimes to hand it over to the One who heals the hurt, relieves the frustration and clears up the confusion. I want to remove the distractions that kept me from leaking Jesus.

    1. It is definitely hard, but our eyes are opened and now we’ve heard stories of someone that shows it can be done! Next time I get mad, I’m hoping a vision of sweet Lynn pops into my head with Bob flipping over a Jeep and then sending her flowers to say STOP CALLING ME!! 🙂

      1. Yep – I want to be the one to have the grace and forgiveness and HIS love to send the flowers to the person that wrongs me… (even if it’s only in my mind and not actual damage)
