“Overcome”
Seated above, enthroned in the Father’s love
Destined to die, poured out for all mankind
God’s only Son, perfect and spotless one
He never sinned but suffered as if He didAll authority
Every victory is Yours
All authority
Every victory is YoursSavior, worthy of honor and glory
Worthy of all our praise, You overcame
Jesus, awesome in power forever
Awesome and great is Your name, You overcame
As I rode down the road earlier today, a lyric from this song stood out to me like never before:
He never sinned but suffered as if He did.
I’ve heard this song hundreds of times and somehow I never caught that line. The very one that lived a life as our example, with NO SIN at all – He is the one that suffered as if He were the sinner.
But, He wasn’t.
We are the sinners.
Then there’s this bridge part of the song that goes like this:
We will overcome by the blood of the Lamb
And the word of our testimony, everyone overcome
Do you remember Day 32 in Draw the Circle that talked about our testimony?
Revelation 12:11 says this: “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”
Jesus triumphed over the enemy by His shed blood on Calvary’s cross. He broke the curse of sin so we can break the cycle of sin. But the way we seal the victory is through our testimonies. Our testimonies don’t just remind us that the victory has already been won; they also remind the enemy that he has already been defeated. (Draw the Circle – pg 177)
Yes! We WILL OVERCOME! By the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony!! Overcome!!
Go and tell somebody today what Jesus has done for you. Let’s kick the devil’s hiney and remind him that he has been defeated and that the victory has already been won! Amen? AMEN!
We win in the end, y’all! Now, that’s a reason to celebrate on this beautiful fall Friday!
Also, I’d love to hear your testimony in the comments. Share what God has been doing in your life lately.

For the first time in my life I truly understand what it means to be thirsty for God’s word. I’ve always read it, had great quiet times, but now I can say I’m thirsty……I get it and I’m excited about studying his word more than ever! God is good!

Marilyn – I feel exactly the same. I’m so thirsty and I know there is something missing when I skip my time with Him!

I feel Him this morning! He is so amazing and shows us new and wonderful things everyday! I was having my quiet time with him this morning and the song Draw me Close came on and the verse that say “you are all I’ve ever needed” just spoke to me! He is all I have ever needed, I look back and see now that he is what was missing! And I’m so glad I figured it out!
